Hello all. My name is Jim Polwort, and I play several instruments (alto, tenor, and soprano saxes, background keyboards, and some acoustic guitar). On the left border, scroll down, and listen to my covers of several tunes. Some of my uploaded songs feature my skills. On "Can't Get Enough", I'm playing background piano. On "Losing My Religion", acoustic guitar. All songs feature me, on lead vocals (and some background harmonies). My roots go back to classic stadium rockers, such as Kansas, Styx, REO, Supertramp, Queen, Police, and many others. I enjoy music, mainly from the late 70's and some 80's. I also enjoy the Beatles, and Elvis (both Presley, and Costello). I self taught myself how to play keyboards, and bought my first synthesizer at Swing City music in Collinsville. Today, I own a Yamaha PSR 290 keyboard, and a Yamaha MM6 I bought during the summer of '08. I also self taught myself acoustic guitar, and own a Takamine, and Ibanez electric acoustics. I'm learning how to record, and have uploaded quite a few songs. Some are ballads, and some are classic rock songs with a twist (here and there). Thanks for looking (and hopefully listening).
